We are starting a faith formation program for men to explore our Catholic faith this month. It’s something we are building from scratch that we are calling Finding the Holy Spirit. Our hope is that we can gather some men who would like to find ways to strengthen their faith and knowledge by questions and study. Its open to any men who want to take it in. There is no requirement, prerequisite or restriction other than this group is meant for men. We wanted to try and provide a space for men to freely gather and share, as that can be a different type of discussion that isnt as possible in a mixed group. We will possibly open up a second study group to everyone at a later date when we see how this one works out.
One of the aims is to try and not format a program too deeply that we get in the way of whatever the Holy Spirit wants us to work on. So it will be largely informal and open to discussions.
Bring your Bible, a journal or notebook if you like to write things down, a pen and/or highlighter so you can capture any scriptures that speak to you during the course of the discussions, and a healthy appetite for exploration and discussion.
We will start this group up on Feb 11 after the Tuesday night mass (adoration is at 6:00pm, mass is at 6:30 and the group starts up after mass shortly after 7:00pm). We will meet in the Knights of Columbus chambers downstairs. We will host this group on the 2nd and 3rd Tuesdays of the months Feb, Mar, Apr this year. If it seems like people are interested, we will start it up again in Sept.
If you are interested or have questions that cant wait for Tuesday, then contact me through the Knights at gk7061@ab.ca or else look to the church bulletin for the contact phone numbers for Russ Jackson or myself, Chris Carr.
