I wanted to thank everyone from every place that prayed Rosaries in January this year. Our target as always for Rosaries reported as having been prayed is 3000 for the month. The final tally for this year of Rosaries reported was 690.
Its pretty short of the target for sure, but I have been saying all along that its not about the numbers. If we ever hit the target…nothing happens other than we can be proud of confirming that many prayed Rosaries being reported. I suppose maybe I would have to change the name and target of the program to the 3001 or 3002 Rosary Challenge after that, but we will just have to cross that bridge when we get there. Its really not that important in the end.
As it is, I am always proud of whatever number we hit. But the more important thing to focus on is that people are praying Rosaries. Praying for whatever intentions that are important to them at that time. I constantly hear about the weight and impact of prayers, especially of the Rosary. Mountains get moved when we genuinely pray this prayer.
There is a really great Catholic speaker named Gabi Castillo who is a tremendous apologist for Marian devotion and in particular devotion to praying the Rosary. He has a YouTube channel called Gabi After Hours. But here is a link to the interview I first came across him when he was on Pints With Aquinas being interviewed by Matt Fradd. Its very long but worth the time even if you had to watch it in chunks.
My great hope for the 3000 Rosary program is that we will find ways and interest to continue it every January. Not only that, but maybe we can inspire people to find ways to keep praying Rosaries every day of the year. I know I can slip away from that dedication over time, but the January program helps get me back in the saddle when it rolls around. Next year we will hopefully have a better way to post our progress updates on the website so its a little more accessible. And maybe we can capture more Rosary beads to get worn down from use too.
Thanks again to everyone who helped out this year. Not only do I appreciate it, so do those who you dedicated your prayers for. Tremendous work everyone.
